ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
Normally Matt Black, ABS Plastic has a wide range of uses for body styling products. The most amazing mechanical properties of ABS are resistance and toughness. The material is stiff, and the properties are kept over a wide temperature range. Black ABS products have excellent weather and chemical resistance. ABS Plastic is one of the best and easiest body materials for painting. The smooth finish means that there are very few imperfections to deal with in preparation before painting.
Carbon Fibre Composites
Carbon Fibre Composites are made from layered Carbon Fabric, bonded with High Strength Resins and baked in a vacuum. Making components in this way has several advantages including High Stiffness, High Tensile Strength, Low Weight, High Chemical Resistance, High Temperature Tolerance and Low Thermal Expansion and is often used in Motorsport, for these qualities.
We all know that Carbon Fibre is a lightweight and strong material, routinely used in Motor Sport. Unfortunately, the real thing is also extremely expensive. To achieve a similar look, the Styling Industry has gone about reproducing the look at a more realistic price. The Carbon finish is applied during the forming process using heat and once completed the Carbon finish becomes an integral part of the moulding. Carbon finish products can be used in much the same way as ABS Plastic products, they can be fitted as they come or part painted as you wish.
To produce a Chromed finish on ABS Plastic, the metal Chromium is evaporated in a Vacuum Chamber. The Chromium vapour then condenses onto the surface of the ABS Plastic parts, leaving a thin layer of metal coating. This depositing process is commonly called 'Physical Vapor Deposition'. Depending on the application, a top coat may be applied after Chrome Plating to increase properties such as abrasion resistance. Metalized plastic components that receive their coats via this process are found in a range of applications, from automotive interior parts to certain types of foils.

New ideas are originated by the design and sales teams, deemed feasible or not by the shop team with the final say left to Toni Rieger. After the idea follows the Model and Tool Fabrication, which is all completed in-house. Production of the ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic components is then carried out on the Latest Automatic Vacuum Thermo-Forming Machines. The pre-cut blank of the finished ABS component is finally processed by the Hi-Tec CNC (computer numerical control) milling machines which Guarantees a Fault Free finish and an exact fit to the vehicle.
